2025 Planned Projects

  • Renovation and Expansion of the Children’s Garden

  • Completion of cacti identification in the conservatory

  • Updated CAD Layout of greenhouse and cataloging of plants in the permanent collection

  • Using QR Codes to allow patrons to learn more about native plants, pollinators, and animals

  • Rearing and relasing 2 healthy generations of butterflies

2024 Projects

  • Installed Phase II of the Greenhouse Mural

  • Reared and Released 2 generations of monarchs

  • Restructured tour materials and and expanded Educational activities for children’s programming

  • Added new structures to beautify the outdoor gardens

  • Created new volunteer social events to allow for more interaction and alternate hours: Planting & Popsicles, W(h)hine & Weed, Flower Arranging, Member Garden Walks, Monarch Research Project Personal Tour and Teaching, Summer Potluck

2023 Projects

  • Raised all needed funds for Phase II of the Greenhouse Mural

  • First Place winner in the 2023 All American Selection (AAS) Garden Competition.

  • Updated Children’s garden with new fencing, additional plants and caterpillar tire structure

  • Installed 3 butterfly houses donated by Pack 39 cub scouts

  • Expanded the Holiday “Lights & Blooms” Open House to add another greenhouse, sell Holiday Decor, held for 2 nights

2022 Projects

Children’s garden updates: Installation of Standing Photo Boards and a painted gnome in the Children's Garden, as well as a new ‘crawl-through’ hollowed tree log, from a downed derecho tree, and a ‘redesign’ of Scarecrow Gene!

Participation in the Monarch Zone Research Project, rearing and releasing several hundred monarch butterflies by the middle of August.

Addition of a beautiful mural to the Greenhouse Entrance.

Replacement of the old wooden Friends of Noelridge Bench with a new granite bench.

Replacing and repairing trellises and arbors in the gardens.

Supporting of the 50 year Greenhouse Anniversary Celebration, as well as the Easter and Mother’s Day Showcases in the Greenhouse.

Hosted inaugural December Open House “Lights & Blooms”
