The Park
The Park
Located at the corner of Collins Road and Council Street NE, the Noelridge Greenhouse is owned and operated by the City of Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department. The greenhouse produces annuals and perennials for planting on public property. A permanent display of large tropical plants is housed there, including several varieties of orchids.
Noelridge Park is a 98 acre park that provides a gathering place for the community. There are a multitude of flower beds, containing both annuals and perennials. The Master Gardeners and Hosta Society also have demonstration gardens at the Park. All plants are clearly labeled so visitors may learn about varieties that would be appropriate for home gardens.
Along with gardens, the Park provides many other amenities, including a large Native plant area, an orchard, a walking trail, playground, tennis / pickleball courts, shelters and restrooms. The Noelridge Aquatic Center is located on the south edge of the park.
Usual hours for the greenhouse are 7:00-3:30 pm, except for Thursday afternoons, when the Greenhouse is only open from 7:00am - noon. Closed on weekends and holidays.
